Hogan Land Title Company Prepares to Celebrate 60th Year in Business
As we prepare to turn the calendar to 2024, Hogan Land Title Company will begin celebrating our 60th year as a family owned and operated business. Incorporated in 1964, Hogan Land Title Company began as Thieme-Hunt Abstract, which had sets of title records dating back
as far as the 1830s. Today, those same books are still being updated, posted to by hand for every recording in Greene, Christian, Stone, and Taney counties and used for every title search performed by Hogan Land Title Company.
The company was purchased by Jack E. Hogan, who had moved to Springfield from West Plains after he left the Navy. Jack eventually transitioned the company from abstract to title insurance, while also adding closing and escrow services. In the 1980s, his daughter Kim and son Bud joined him at the company, as well as Kim’s husband Keith Chaffin. The three are still partners in the company today, and also added Bud’s wife Mary to the Director of 1031 Exchange six years ago.
Today, the third generation of Hogan family members have a hand in the company. Bud and Mary Hogan’s sons Jack and Nick are in operations. Keith and Kim’s son, Ross, is an attorney with the company. As Hogan Land Title heads into our 60th year in the title business in Southwest Missouri, our values of family, hard work, and accuracy are poised to remain constant.
